SAATCHI GALLERY _ LONDON
Phobia PHOBIA is a charcoal manual animation exploring the psychological paralysis of fear. The film follows a bird that enters a familiar breach, only to be blinded by panic. Within this confinement, distortion takes hold: the bird mistakes its own reflection for a predator, and the path to freedom becomes invisible. The work meditates on the deceptive nature of terror—specifically how it can be weaponized through the guise of the sacred—suggesting that the most profound imprisonment arrives in the sound of a prayer. Produced during the residency at the Fire Station, Qatar Museums, Phobia has been exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery and won Best Animation at the FFA Film Festival in Los Angeles.
